Online Therapy

So much of our lives are being conducted online these days. Although we need to prioritize our health and safety life still needs to move forward. During these times, you have to prioritize your mental health too. Online therapy which is sometimes referred to as telehealth, is a convenient and efficient way to do this. Telehealth appointments can be very beneficial when going to traditional in-person counseling is not an option.

Or, perhaps, you live in a rural part of Georgia, and there aren’t counselors there who specialize in treating the issues you’re experiencing. Therefore, you put off seeing a therapist because you don’t want to drive long distances to get to your appointment.

Maybe, you’re so busy. So, carving out 2 hours to go to and from therapy sessions just isn’t an option. And this keeps you from getting the support you need. Or perhaps, you’re homebound or physically disabled and unable to secure reliable transportation to make it to your appointments.

The Benefits of Online Therapy in Georgia

Online Therapy is Private and Confidential

Online therapy is private. You don’t have to worry about running into family or an acquaintance when at your provider’s office. Furthermore, your confidentiality is upheld during an online therapy appointment, just as it would be in an in-person session. And, we use an encrypted electronic health record (EHR) to help protect your privacy.

Online Therapy is Easy to Access

You log on to your therapy session with a link that is emailed to you in an appointment reminder sent to you before your scheduled session. You will want to be in a private location that is free from distraction. Ensure that you have a strong, reliable internet source. Most folks like to wear earbuds with a microphone, or at least have earbuds with the use of the computer microphone. This also helps with limiting distraction and helping you be fully present for your session. Please note, we will not conduct sessions if you are driving.

Online Therapy is Convenient and Flexible

If you’re a busy professional and/or parent, you probably do not want to take off work to go to therapy every week. But, with online therapy, you don’t have to do that. You can meet with a skilled therapist at a time that works well in your day. Maybe, that’s over your lunch break, in a gap between meetings, while your kids nap, or even at night.

Furthermore, many of our younger clients are also students. And many are attending virtual or hybrid school options. Online therapy allows for appointments to occur in the middle of the day when there are gaps in the school schedule or after school and extracurricular activities. This allows students to get therapy without having to interrupt their school day to drive to an appointment, attend the appointment and then return to school. Plus, online therapy allows for easier participation in church activities, sports, extra-curricular school activities, scouting, and part-time work schedules.

Online Therapy for First Responders

Online therapy affords you the ability to meet your family and work responsibilities and not require you may be up to 2 additional hours when you consider possible drive times to and from home, work, and our office.
